My name is Sam Owen I am From Hamilton, MO Graduated in 2014 and move to Fort Scott, KS in 2014. I came in Fort Scott, KS help my grandparents on Farm for 3 years. Went to college here at the Fort Scott Community College for one year. then I started my job with Ward Kraft been with them for 5 yrs. Then got on With Timken Belts for better pay wage in 2021. I did URA rodeo for 5 years of bull riding. This is my First year running for election for Kansas Senate District 13. I am a Republican always been Republican my whole life. Why I am running for office because Taxes is too high in Bourbon County, KS and jobs is leaving in Bourbon County, KS because taxes to high and no Hospital. That's Why I want to make Kansas District 13 Bourbon County, KS, Crawford County, KS and Cherokee County, KS safer and better.

• Health Care Cost- we need to lower expenses for medical services, insurance premiums, and prescription drugs impact residents’ access to quality health care.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

If I get elected I going do what I say to the American people in this District 13 not just talk about it. I am going get the job done, and get it pass

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

My first job was at WardKraft been there 7 years

Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.

Yes we all can build relationships and trust with each other.

What is the first bill you would introduce if elected?

Lower taxes down in this district 13, Health Care and Hospital- Get hospital back in Bourbon County, KS and keep all other hospitals open not close down in other counties, Economic Growth- Infrastructure attracts businesses, creates jobs, and stimulates economic activity. Investments in utilities, broadband, and industrial zones benefit the district. And Increase minimum Wages, Education Funding- Make Schools Better, Safer & more protected. in each county's

I am about want to make this District 13 Safer, Better and Safer. Need to lower taxes down. Everything is to high everyone can’t afford it.

My great Grandpa he was a Kansas House representative. I trying step up bigger for him

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Need to do the stuff they say they going to do. Do it. Not lie to the American people about it. That’s my goal I going do. I going do it and fight to pass the bills need to be pass. Not bills don’t need be pass

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

I love rodeo I am a bull rider, love just going out just having fun and ride bulls

My first job is WardKraft almost 7 years
