Sam Roberts
Sam Roberts (Democratic Party) was a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 128. He assumed office in 2013. He left office on June 25, 2015.
Roberts (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 22nd Congressional District. He lost in the Democratic primary on August 23, 2022.
Roberts resigned from the state House to become commissioner of the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance.[1]
He previously represented District 119 in the Assembly from 2011 to 2013. Roberts was formerly a legislator for Onondaga County from 1990 to 1999.
Biography
Roberts earned his associate degree from Onondaga Community College, his B.A. from Empire State College and a certificate in Labor Studies from Cornell University. His professional experience includes working for General Motors as a journeyman tool and die maker for thirty years.[2]

Elections for the New York State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Sam Roberts was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while John W. Sharon was unopposed in the Republican primary. Roberts ran on the Working Families Party ticket and Sharon ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. Roberts defeated Sharon in the general election.[3][4][5]
