Sam W. Russell was a judge for the Titus County Court in Titus County, Texas. He was elected to the court in 2006 and served until his term expired in 2010.[1][2] After a distinguished career in the legal field and public service, Russell passed away on May 14, 2014.[2]

Education

Russell received his undergraduate degree from East Texas State University and his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law.[2]

Career

Before he became a judge, Russell served as an attorney for Titus County, as a house district member of the Texas State Legislature from 1983 to 1992, and as a legislative liaison for former Governor Ann Richards.[2]

2010 election

Russell ran for election to the Titus County Court. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary but was defeated by Brian Lee in the general election.[3][4]
