Sam Walker is a judge for the Westchester County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. He first won election to the seat in 2006 and won re-election in 2020 to a second 14-year term.[1][2]
Education
Walker received his B.A. degree from the City University of New York, Herbert H. Lehman College in 1975 and his J.D. degree from the Howard University School of Law in 1982.[1]
Career
Walker began his career in 1982 as a patent attorney for General Foods Corporation. He then became an associate judge of the Mount Vernon City Court in 1989. In 1995, he was elected a judge of that court. He served in that position until 2002, when he was elected judge of the Westchester County Court and acting judge of the Yonkers Family Court. He left the Family Court judgeship the following year. He served as an Acting Supreme Court Justice in 2005 and became a Supreme Court Justice the following year.[1]
