Sammy Hager is a political activist, author, and investigative journalist that has lived in Idaho since 2012. As the previous owner and founder of Idaho's largest music magazine and a cyber security/ tech journalist for Red Hat and TechInsider, Hager has all of the qualities needed to be a serious candidate for this position-if only she wanted to be. Instead, Hager is simply running this campaign to make a political statement with the intent of surpassing her opponent through honesty and a fully grassroots campaign method.
  • NO politician should be able to run uncontested and reap the benefits of their position of power through corporate bribery
  • The working-class are not being represented in our government and they should be
  • Idaho is slowly becoming a very diverse state and this should be celebrated rather than suppressed
-TERM LIMITS for all politicians

-Elections for the police force in every state
-Frequent town halls where officials will be directly questioned by their constituents to determine where their loyalty lies
-Traffic in Meridian should be handled in a better manner
-Property Tax increases are unacceptable when businesses are getting so many tax breaks
-Big business tax breaks should never exist
-Super PACs and Corporate groups should not be allowed to fund politicians
-Medicare for All
-Pro-Choice
-Free College Tuition
-Special Education Program Funding increases, NOT CUTS
-$15 Minimum wage
-Increased funding and salaries for schools and educators
-Extended maternity leave AND paternity leave
-Increased funding for health and welfare
-NO mentally stable and experienced gun owners should lose their guns (including AR-15's), but mental evaluations and training courses should be mandatory AND gun show loopholes should be eliminated
-Hemp legalization and distribution to help agriculture and sustainable farming
-Legalizing Marijuana ESPECIALLY for medical purposes
-Funding of cultural programs and inclusivity initiatives
-FULL endorsement of The Green New Deal
-Trans athletes and residents deserve complete support and protection from those that oppose them
-The LGBTQIA+ community not only deserves equality but also should not be mistreated based on their sexual identity and should be allowed to adopt children

-Expanded VA funding and mental health support
I have many idols and yet, the people I look up to most are the ones that are not named that still stand and fight for what is right despite not being the face of the revolution.
Read any dystopian novel you care to mention, study it closely, analyze the fall of Rome just as closely, and then recognize that we are slowly becoming more and more like these worlds with every waking moment. Once you have read these books and studied the history we are doomed to repeat, you will know why it is so important to elect individuals such as myself before it's too late
Honesty and a moral compass are the most important characteristics. Start with these and then go from there.
Well, I'm a person that doesn't abuse the power I have, doesn't fund my campaign through corrupt companies and industry leaders, and doesn't care to stand for what I believe in even when it's not a popular opinion to hold.
The core responsibilities of an elected official are to fulfill the wishes of their constituents, do what is best for their state and country as a whole, and choose to stand for what is right even in the fave of outrageous adversity
I don't care if people remember my name. All I care about is whether or not the future generations are able to live better lives than mine because of the statements I make and the movements I back.
I attended Occupy LA when I was 12 as the president of the World Peace Committee at my elementary school.
My first job was working as a bike mechanic at 15 years old at Incycle Bicycles in California. I worked there for about a year and then moved here to Idaho.
My favorite book is Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon and the reason is because I consider it to be a perfect representation of the fine line between good and evil which we walk upon as humans. I also appreciate the fact that it discusses the need for a semblance of the opposite in every human ie. sacrifices must be made to be good.
Well, obviously, I could be someone that shares similar interests as myself or someone that resonates with me like Holden Caulfield or Esther Greenwood but that would be just trading one regular human with another. Instead, if I could be ANY fictional character, it would be stupid of me to not choose a god so I could actually make a difference in the world around me with the snap of my fingers.
The last song to get stuck in my head was probably 'Shoes' by Deluxe
I am an autistic individual with strong political beliefs, a very unique family structure, coming from poverty and depression, having no religious affiliation, and I'm from California living in Idaho. I've pretty much dealt with everything you can imagine and yet, somehow, I am STILL more privileged than a large portion of Americans. That's unacceptable.
Overcoming the corruption that once engulfed our political system and is slowly losing its vile grasp
Not in the slightest. In fact, I feel strongly that term limits should exist so fresh minds are always representing the district in the best way possible.
It is a loophole that is the sheer epitome of everything that is wrong with our government infrastructure.
I would directly choose people that know the district and would not look to their political credentials but rather their 'humanity credentials'
