Hoagland ran for election to the Fourth Judicial District.
Primary: He was successful in the primary on May 20, 2014, receiving 31.8 percent of the vote. He competed against Rebecca W. Arnold, Jeanne M. Howe and Jonathan Medema.
General: He defeated Rebecca W. Arnold in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 52.8 percent of the vote. [1][2]

Education

Hoagland received a B.S. in pharmacy from Idaho State University in 1976, and a J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1982.[3]

Career

Hoagland has worked in private practice since 1982, most recently as a solo practitioner. Prior to earning his law degree, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry for many years. He's also been an adjunct professor teaching clinical pharmacy and pharmacy law at Idaho State University from 1976 to 1978, 1984 to 1986, and 2001 to 2011.[3]
