Candidate Connection

Samuel Adams completed Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey. The survey questions appear in bold and are followed by Adams' responses.

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Consolidating our legislature - 4 year terms for all elected offices with a maximum 2 term limit for each elected position. Decrease our Government - Our government is wasteful and largely operates outside of its constitutional authority. I want to reduce the size of our federal government and send every program possible back to the states how it was intended. Personal Liberty - I want to end the federal intervention into our professional and private lives. All people have the right to live their life in whatever manner they so choose as long as it does not forcibly interfere with the equal rights of others.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Economy, Immigration, Foreign Affairs, Domestic Affairs, The Environment, The Electorate, The Size of the Federal Government

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

I look to our founding fathers and their unparalleled foresight for the framework of our Constitutional Republic. Being of relation to patriots like John Adams our Second President and learning our family history from a very young age instilled a critical sense of personal liberty and limited government.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

The first responsibility that an elected official has to their representative constituency is to ensure that the federal government is operating within its constitutional boundaries. Once it has been determined that Congress is in fact dealing with an issue of federal importance it is crucial that the representative use the opinion of their constituency and their own conscious to vote for the appropriate measures.

What process do you favor for redistricting?

I believe that redistricting should be done by a third party resource.

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?

I believe that all federally elected officials should serve a term of 4 years. The house being elected in the second year of the current presidency, the senate voted in the third.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

I believe that no person should hold the same state or federally elected position for more than 2 terms in a lifetime.

Ballotpedia biographical submission form

The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:

What is your political philosophy?

Through legislation that will limit the size of the federal government and it's legal authority to collect and appropriate funds I hope to bring our country back into fiscal responsibility. If elected my top priorities will include consolidating our electorate, streamlining the voting process, and placing term limits on all elected officials so that they can hold office based on their own merit. I want to decrease government interference in the private and professional lives of the American People.[2]
