Biography
Boone earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Norfolk State University. His professional experience includes working as a Virginia State Trooper and recruiter for the department. He has been awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Courageous Leadership Award. He has been associated with the following organizations:

- Grassfield Elementary PTA
- New Chesapeake Men for Progress
- State Police Association
- ECPI Criminal Justice Advisory Board[1]

Four of the nine at-large seats on the Chesapeake Public Schools school board were up for general election on May 3, 2016. Incumbents Samuel Boone, Charles Bunn, Tom Mercer and Victoria Proffitt defeated challenger Donna Parker to win re-election to their four seats.[2]
