The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Incumbent Kenneth Ward was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Samuel Cheney was unopposed in the Republican primary. Ward and Cheney faced off in the general election.[1] Incumbent Ward defeated Cheney in the general election, and was re-elected for another term.[2]
