I am a lifelong resident of this district, with multiple generations of my family living in this area. I am running to ensure that every person in our community feels heard and supported, to provide a strong and complete education.
  • Intelligent, responsible use of the public trust given to LISD is critical to our community.
  • Every individual in our community deserves an attentive and passionate advocate.
  • Education instills virtues and values, we must ensure that we are providing the best education possible.
Providing the best education and opportunity for every student.
I learned these long ago in scouts and try to live by them: Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
To be responsible for the education of the children in the district. The Board should set the direction of the school district regarding school policy, curriculum, expenditures, and expansion.
I was a grocery bagger at Albertsons. I had it all summer to help pay for scout troop expenses.
The Board of Trustees is a small representative group of the community. While the board has many functions, its main function is to be legally responsible for the education of the children in the district. Trustees work with the Superintendent and staff to set the direction of the school district regarding school policy, curriculum, expenditures, and expansion.
Every single person who lives in the district. If elected I will represent everyone with as much care and consideration as possible, regardless of their vote or contribution.
To put it succinctly, LISD is a massive institution with excellent administration. The Board of Trustees is an experienced governing body with decades of cumulative experience. I would look to the other members and industry experts when deciding how the district might best address its various needs, and advocate for the best policies possible.
The community involvement in these local elections is in dire need of inspiration. The local involvement is so small as to be almost comical. I would reach out to members of the community that normally are disinterested in the districts, encouraging community involvement outside of participation in the school system.
I think one of the biggest hurdles is unenthusiastic staff. The pandemic has exhausted families, administration, and the community at large. I would look to our sitting industry experts in methods that can help reinvigorate our community and administration.
I would see LISD become the destination district in Texas. I would like to see LISD expand further into the technology initiatives and apprenticeships that already exist. I would also like to see LISD offer extended and continuing education programs to the community.
This district has over 52,000 students. I would encourage parents to participate locally, with their schools and administration, and with the board. I plan on making myself available to assist parents in addressing their concerns with the district as the Board is able.
