Samuel J. Steiner
Samuel J. Steiner was a bankruptcy court judge for the Western District of Washington. Judge Steiner was reappointed on September 10, 2000.[1]
Education and early life
Judge Steiner received his undergraduate degree and his law degree from the University of Washington. In 1951, following law school, Steiner entered active duty in the United States Army and served with the Judge Advocate General's Corps. After release from active service, Judge Steiner remained active in the Army Reserve and retired in 1978 with the rank of Colonel.[2]
Career
Judge Steiner engaged in private practice in Seattle from 1954 to 1978. He was appointed a United States bankruptcy judge to the Western District of Washington on June 23, 1978 and was elevated to Chief Judge in 1987, serving in that capacity until 1994. He was reappointed on September 10, 2000 to bankruptcy court judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Western District of Washington.[2]
