Samuel Lebreault was an at-large member of the Perth Amboy Public Schools school board in New Jersey. He first won election in 2013. Lebreault lost his bid for re-election in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Lebreault was born in the Dominican Republican and moved to Newark, New Jersey when he was 13 years old. He graduated from Newark Public Schools and eventually earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Lebreault is a project engineer with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and spends his free time coaching youth baseball and supporting Latino candidates for local office. He and his wife, Sonia, have two children.[1]

Three of the nine seats on the Perth Amboy Public Schools school board were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. Randy Convery, Junior Iglesia, and Tashi Vazquez won election to the three seats on the board by defeating incumbents Samuel Lebreault, Israel Varela, and Anthony Bermudez, as well as challengers Ruben Cruz and Hattie Harrell.[2]

Lebreault sought election to the board against eight other candidates in the November 5, 2013 general election. He ran with fellow challenger Anthony Bermudez and incumbent Israel Varela as part of the Together for Quality Schools slate.[4]
