Samuel T. Biscoe was the Travis County Commissioners Court Judge in Travis County, Texas. Biscoe was appointed to the court in March 2020 following the announcement of the resignation of Sarah Eckhardt, and was sworn in on May 12, 2020, once Eckhardt's resignation took effect.[1][2] He left office in November 17, 2020, when he was succeeded by Andy Brown.

Biscoe previously served as the judge of the Travis County Commissioners Court from December 1, 1998, until he retired at the end of his last term in December 2014.[3][4][5]

Education

Biscoe received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas in 1969 and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas Law School in 1973.[3]

Career

Prior to his career as the Travis County Commissioners Court judge, Briscoe served as the county commissioner for Travis County Precinct One from 1988 to 1997. He also previously served as general counsel to Agricultural Commissioner Jim Hightower and worked as an attorney for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Biscoe was re-elected to the Travis County Court. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. He then defeated Mike McNamara and Mark Tippetts in the general election, with 56.9% of the vote. [6]
