San Bernardino County Measure K was on the ballot as an initiative in San Bernardino County on November 3, 2020.

It was approved but then overturned by a court ruling.

A "yes" vote supported amending the city charter to reduce the salary of members of the board of supervisors to $5,000 per month and to establish term limits for board members of one term.

A "no" vote opposed this measure amending the city charter to reduce the salary of members of the board of supervisors to $5,000 per month and to establish term limits for board members of one term instead of the existing limit of three consecutive terms.

Aftermath

Judge Donald Alvarez of the San Bernardino County Superior Court ruled that Measure K was unconstitutional on August 31, 2021. He wrote that the measure's one-term limit violated the First Amendment and the Fourteenth Amendment. He also stated that the term limit provision was not separable from the rest of the measure; therefore, the measure as a whole could not be enforced. [1]

The organization Red Brennan Group, which backed the initiative, filed an appeal on September 22, 2021.[2]
