A San Carlos School District parcel tax, Measure A ballot question was on the May 3, 2011 ballot for voters in the San Carlos School District in San Mateo County, where it was approved.[1]
The school district already had a parcel tax that was set to expire in June 2011.[2]
The parcel tax for San Carlos schools was originally approved in 2003 and is $110.60 a year per parcel. With the approval of Measure A, that same level of taxation will continue for eight more years.
The original Measure D brings in about $1 million/year to the school district. This is approximately 5% of the school district's annual budget.
The election on Measure A took place on a mail-in ballot only.[3]
A two-thirds (66.67%) vote was required for approval.
