San Fernando Measure SF was on the ballot as a referral in San Fernando on November 3, 2020. It was approved.

A “yes” vote supported authorizing a sales tax increase from 0.5% to 0.75% generating an estimated $1.1 million per year for municipal purposes including street maintenance, infrastructure, local businesses, public Wi-Fi and debt reduction, thereby increasing the total sales tax rate in San Fernando from 10% to 10.25%.

A “no” vote opposed authorizing a sales tax increase from 0.5% to 0.75% generating an estimated $1.1 million per year for municipal purposes including street maintenance, infrastructure, local businesses, public Wi-Fi and debt reduction, thereby leaving the existing total sales tax rate in San Fernando at 10%.


A simple majority was required for the approval of Measure SF.

Text of measure

Ballot title

The ballot title for Measure SF was as follows:

To ensure that the maximum amount of sales tax revenues generated in San Fernando remain in San Fernando, and to increase funding for street and sidewalk improvements; public infrastructure; local business reinvestment; public Wi-Fi; long-term debt reduction; wage and other general municipal purposes, shall the existing transactions and use tax rate be increased from the current rate of ½% to a new rate of ¾% to raise approximately $1,100,000 annually?
