Hicks provided the following description of his political philosophy to Ballotpedia:
“ | I support democratic capitalism where workers decide what happens in their workplace as part of the effort to close the wage gap and bring greater economic equity to our nation. A public interest venture capital bank should be established by the federal government to be adopted by the states in support of funding projects which are evaluated and found to be in the best interest of the public good. Peace in the Middle East is possible through inter-faith understanding, and an end to Islamophobia. The families of the victims of 9/11 deserve answers to their questions through a new investigation of the crimes on September 11th, 2001. The election of Trump, Occupy Wall Street, and the success of Bernie Sanders all demonstrate that the status-quo is unacceptable and a mass movement is ready for change in America.[1][2] | ” |
