I was born and raised in Las Vegas but made my home in Henderson in 2002. I have been a practicing attorney for over 28 years, with over 25 years as a criminal prosecutor in Clark County. During my career, I have handled all types of cases, from traffic citations to first degree murder. I have conducted over 85 jury trials, 200 felony preliminary hearings, and 100 misdemeanor bench trials. Moreover, I have practiced in every Justice Court across Clark County, as well as in the Eighth Judicial District Court, the Nevada Court of Appeals and the Nevada Supreme Court. Currently, I am an Assistant City Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Henderson City Attorney’s Office, and I am part of the management team. My responsibilities include supervision of the Investigation Unit and the Victim Advocate Unit, as well as representing the City of Henderson in bail hearings, arraignments, and both bench and jury trials. Before coming to the City, I was a Chief Deputy District Attorney with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for over 22 years. Prior to my career as a prosecutor, I was in private practice in California and Ohio where I handled cases involving family-based immigration, civil litigation and children’s rights. I have two adult children who are currently in college and a long-time partner who has two children of his own.
  • I have spent over 25 years serving the citizens of Henderson, as well as across Clark County, with dedication and passion. I am seeking this judicial position so that I may continue to serve my community from the bench and ensure its safety, as well as that all persons have equal access to the court system.
  • It is important as a judge to ensure all members of our community have their matters fairly, equitably and expeditiously resolved when involved in the court system.
  • The Henderson Justice Court is in need of a diversionary program; this way, certain defendants who are amenable to treatment, may address the reasons underlying their criminal activity, with the goal of transitioning them out of the criminal justice system.
Pursuant to the Nevada Judicial Canons, I am unable to answer this question regarding how I feel personally about areas of public policy. As a judge, my role will be interpreting and applying the law equally to all persons and to arrive at decisions that are fair and impartial, irrespective of my personal or political beliefs.
I remember watching President Nixon on tv resigning from office. I was 4 years old.
