I am Sandra Linares, a teacher, Air Force veteran, Certified Fraud Examiner, advocate for the Second Amendment and a strong conservative patriot. I strongly believe in limited government, lower taxes and personal responsibility. I believe it is time for new faces with a commitment to conservative principles in the Nevada Legislature. I have held management and internal audit positions at local casinos for the past two decades and I have been teaching a Financial Investigations course at University of Nevada, Reno since 2011. I have lived in Assembly District 31 for many years and have voted in every election cycle. The needs of the many of the citizens in Assembly District 31 are being ignored. I will ask for input from my constituents, listen to what they have to say, and stand with them, all of them.
  • As a parent and grandparent, I have seen the rapid decline of the Nevada education system. Nevada schools have failed to meet the learning and developmental needs of our children. Supporting school vouchers, provides a greater degree of freedom by allowing parents to choose the best school for their son or daughter.
  • Honoring veterans sacrifices made for our country and for Nevada means supporting all aspects of their lives to include their mental health. Over 200,000 veterans reside in Nevada and sadly Nevada had the 11th suicide rate in the nation with 23% of all suicides by veterans. Supporting expanded health services, to include better access to mental health facilities for veterans is a priority for me.
  • The reckless, and in some cases illegal, tax and spend initiatives by the majority party and our current state legislature is eroding the economic health of our citizens and businesses in Nevada. I will make it my goal to fight for the citizens of Nevada and oppose any and all new taxes, especially an income tax and additional sale taxes.
Increase funding for schools will not solve the current state of the public education system. If money were the solution, the problem would have been solved long ago. We should be looking for best practices in states who are ranked at the top of the education list rather then continuing the same failed practices that keep Nevada at the bottom.

As your Assemblywoman, it will be one of my priorities to see to it that no additional taxes will be implemented on the citizens of the state of Nevada. I have witnessed first hand that our current state legislature is a eroding the economic health and welfare of our citizens and businesses in Nevada. I have had conversations with citizens from all political stripes and the vast majority have the perception that accountability for an openness about how our tax dollars are spent does not exist.
