Sandy Shafer
Sandy Shafer ran for election to the Lexington City Council to represent District 11 in Kentucky. She lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Biography
Sandy Shafer was born and lives in Lexington, Kentucky. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1974. She earned an associate degree in computer science from Lexington Technical Institute in 1978. Shafer’s career experience includes working as a co-owner of Mr. Suds Coin Laundry and of Imperial Coin Laundry. She founded Friends of the Parks in Fayette County, Kentucky, which describes itself as, “a 501c(3), non-profit, project driven group that has helped to start other PARK related non-profits, build playgrounds in the Central KY area along with beautification and tree planting efforts.”[1][2]
