A Santa Monica Renter Protection Charter Amendment, Measure RR ballot proposition was on the November 2, 2010 ballot for voters in the City of Santa Monica in Los Angeles County.[1] It was approved.
Measure RR amended the Santa Monica City Charter so that:
- Landlords have to give tenants "reasonable time" to correct rental agreement violations, except for non-payment of rent.
- Landlords cannot evict the elderly, disabled and terminally ill tenants for owner-occupancy unless the owner-occupant is also elderly, disabled or terminally ill.
- A landlord must establish good cause to evict any tenant.
