Growing up with parents who prioritized faith, family, education, and befriending those in need, Sara-Elizabeth learned to value hard work and loving others. Now, she’s a Christian, wife, mom, educator, business executive, and longtime Louisville resident who loves the Highlands and Kentucky.
  • Schools: JCPS is failing the children of our community. We need bipartisan work on school choice options.
  • Streets: It's time for the police and community to work together to take back our violent streets.
  • Savings: From school funding to financial literacy training to carbon dividends to inflation, let's make every tax dollar count.
Education is my area of expertise and passion. I support public education while watching in shock and dismay as Louisville's parents are forced to pay full price for private education, homeschool, or play a crap shoot with the public schools, with our most marginalized learners losing the most. I want to see support for children and families, affordable healthcare, a thriving immigrant community, and international business investment into Kentucky.
I know how to communicate with passion and respect, in a way that helps me and the people around me come to a policy that is beneficial and agreeable for as many people as possible.
Our current representative has failed the district by focusing on joke bills and amendments while failing to vote almost half the time in the three years before the '22 General Session. Showing up to vote on bills is clearly a core responsibility, as well as seeking common ground with other legislators in order to craft and file bills that will get heard and voted on, something the current representative has not managed to do in a long, long time.
I remember when the Berlin Wall came down. I started to understand that not everyone enjoyed the freedom I had, and what it meant to have democracy opened up to someone suffering an oppressive dictatorship for so long.
Besides the Bible, Up From Slavery, by Booker T. Washington. Washington's character and determination are inspiring. There is so much to learn from him on relationships with difficult people and how to work for change when the politics is against you.
Also: All the Light We Cannot See, Fearless, Unbroken, Inés del alma mía, and A Gentleman in Moscow.
Economic development in the eastern part must replace the coal and tobacco we've taken from them, as we left them with drug addiction and joblessness. Broadband internet, transportation improvements, and bringing in investment can change that region. Also, specifically for Jefferson County, the disastrous public school situation must be addressed.
