I am a mother, a chiropractor, a small business owner, and a Mainer. When I looked at how running for senate would impact my life, I thought about the example I would be setting for my sons, Patrick and Gibson. I want them to see me as determined and dedicated. I want them to know that I was brave and stood up for what I believe in. I want them to see their own lives as filled with possibility. I hope that taking part in serving the people in Maine exemplifies these things to them.
The top issues currently facing Maine are retention of small businesses, the budget deficit, and our high tax burden. Since Maine is projected to have a $1.4 billion shortfall over the next three years, we must work together to close that gap without further damaging our economy and leaving our most vulnerable populations behind.
