My name is Sara Yedlik and I am running for House District 84 to represent Benton and Linn(NW and SW corners) counties. I was born and raised in House District, and that is where I’ve chosen to raise my own children. I am in my 23rd year of teaching, and was appointed by the governor in 2014 to serve on the Board of Educational Examiners for the past eight years, and chair for the past two years.

I’m running because I come from a farming family with deep roots in this community, and they’ve always taught me that being a good neighbor is about working together, especially in times of trial. I’m grateful for everything Benton County has given to me, and I want to ensure that future generations have the same opportunities.

  • Education-As an educator, Sara knows that our public schools need to be fully funded. Public dollars should stay in public schools so they can benefit our teachers, kids, and communities.
  • Working families-Sara knows that working Iowa families deserve a livable wages, a fair tax system, and a chance to take care of their families. She supports a tax plan that benefits families-- not corporations.
  • Mental Health- As an educator, wife and mother, Sara knows that mental health is just as important as physical health. Expanding accessibility to mental health resources in our communities is vital to improving the lives of Iowans.
