|Right now our legislature is not acting respectful, generous or with community in mind. I’m running because my opponent is more concerned with dividing our community with a culture war, than solving Idaho’s problems: like growth, housing, public schools, and fiscal stewardship. Now, since I chose Nampa to be my home, I have done many things, including setting molds, populating circuit boards, office work, and substitute teaching. I also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from BSU. I even met my husband Matthew, we’ve been married almost 23 years. However, for most of the last 18 years, I have done the important work of raising my two children as a stay-at-home Mom.
I have also known adversity in my life as well. My parents divorced when I was 10 and my mother returned to college to get the skills needed to support us 6 kids. As the oldest my job was to care for my younger siblings while my Mom was trying to achieve the American Dream. She graduated and became a special education teacher. When things get hard I remember my Mom’s courage, hard work, and grit.- Schools should be fully funded by the State of Idaho, in order to provide for a stable government. Paraphrased from the Idaho State Constitution.
- Growth needs to be managed to decrease congestion; and increase affordable housing stocks for both renters and first time home buyers.
- The great thing about Idaho and Nampa is our sense of community. My opponent and others' hateful rhetoric is dividing our community. A leader should be trying to unite the community so we can do great things.
