Sarah was born and raised in Weiser and is a proud graduate of Weiser High School (go Wolverines!). She was raised to respect of traditional blue collar Idaho values and with love for hunting and fishing in the Idaho outdoors. After high school, Sarah spent time as a volunteer firefighter and worked for years in law enforcement. Sarah has a bachelor's degree in communication and works as the business manager for a local Caldwell small business. Sarah also serves on various boards and volunteer positions.
  • Low Taxes: In this difficult time with Bidenflation and the rising cost of living in Idaho, we must have a fiscally responsible government. Every dollar that I can put back in a taxpayer's wallet is another dollar that can be used to support their family.
  • Education: Safe, Quality Public Schools I believe a quality education is the foundation in which all other issues rest upon. We must have strong schools that are properly funded. While choice is an important component of education, I support an all-of-the-above approach and will not sacrifice our public schools.
  • Safe Communities: I stand with law enforcement and for strong borders. Safety in our communities is my highest priority. Our legislature must support policies that back the blue, tackle illegal immigration, and reduce the amount of fentanyl coming across our borders.
Adoption/Adoption Reform:

As a pro-life candidate, I believe it is critical to provide reasonable alternates for people who need them. Adoption is an important part of a pro-life culture. Unfortunately, there is an unreasonable amount of red tape and expense involved with legal adoption. I hope to have an impact on this issue as a legislator. While I do not support no regulation whatsoever, reform is beyond desperately needed.

Inflation:

The price of feeding your family and keeping a roof over your head has risen astronomically over the last few years. Inflation is wildly out of control, and this is unsustainable. One of the primary causes of inflation has been runaway government borrowing and spending, which I plan to prevent.
The Biblical character Deborah, she was a judge with great wisdom. Her relationship with God and the wisdom she carried as a result. She was able to make very difficult decisions as a result of that wisdom.
Honesty, integrity, values, and transparency. I would also add that I think communication and open dialog with the community is the hallmark of a good, elected official.
I'm thoughtful, I make decisions logically and not emotionally, I am thorough. I will always think of any consequences people may not consider and how it effects all people of Idaho and my district. I am organized, communicative, and honest.
To represent the people of their district whether or not they voted for them. To be fiscally responsible with every taxpayer dollar and is imperative they remain informed and seek knowledge on the issues they are voting on. I also think it is very important that someone in this position support and represent the people and not special interest.
An Idaho that is better than the one that I grew up in. I love the Idaho I grew up in, but I want an Idaho that sets our children up for success.... that maintains all the values and beauty of our state, while keeping it competitive and smart for the future.
Dishwasher in the back of a bar when I was twelve, I think I worked there for about a month during a busy period of time for them.
Strong in Battle by Susie Larson because after all of the challenges I have gone through in my life, it equipped me for dealing with difficult situations in the future.
Not internalizing criticisms. I have had to realize that I really want to make everyone happy and that isn't possible. What my faith and experience has informed me is that sometimes a criticism can open a new doorway or an idea, and it is not always personal. That being said, I wish we lived in a world where personal attacks in life (and in politics) weren't so common.
A governor and the legislature should have a collaborative relationship. This does not mean they will always agree, but that they will have an open dialog to prevent stalling important legislation, or conversely to prevent poorly written legislation from wasting everyone's time.
Infrastructure. As one of the fastest growing states in the U.S. we have an incredible of infrastructural need. From roads to schools, to water and services, the next decade will consistently be an issue.
Not necessarily, not to say it's not a benefit, but experience can come in a lot of different ways. For example, someone who has worked (for the government) in public safety may bring important and useful experience to an elected office but, by the same token, a business owner could do the same for different reasons.
Obviously, you cannot get anything done in virtually elected position by not working with others.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders. While I agree with no politician all of the time, I respect her conservative values, strong tone, articulate nature, and ability to stand up in the face of adversity,
I think everyone likes to say no to this because they think it is important to be sure no one doubts their commitment to the position. While my answer at this point is in fact NO, I cannot predict what the future will hold or where God or the people will call me to. Honesty and integrity are in far too short of a supply in politics.
I spoke with a veteran last week about his time in Vietnam and how he feels he is only alive today because he kept his head down and his mouth shut and did the work at hand. It was inspiring to me to hear the experience of someone who was under the highest of pressure environments staying focused and determined. I admired him, and he offered his support. I hear so many stories, but this one was recent and it stuck out in my head.
The antics of some of the extremists in Idaho (also Ammon Bundy being wheeled out of the Capital in an office chair).
The legislature should have oversight. While emergency powers are essential in certain circumstances, those powers should never be held by a single official without oversight.

It is critical we institute zero based budgeting for all departments. Full transparency for citizens and stakeholders. Transparency is an important part of government accountability, and as a result, I also support informational transparency so that citizens can hold elected officials and agencies accountable.
