Sarah Cottrell Propst earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Davidson College and a masters of public affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public & International Affairs, with a concentration in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy from Princeton University. Her career experience includes working as the executive director of the Interwest Energy Alliance, as the founder of Propst Consulting LLC, and as Deputy Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico Environment Department. Propst was appointed to serve as the Cabinet Secretary of the Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department in January 2019.[2]
