Former Senate District 7 Precinct 668 Pct. Chair of over 4 years and Election Presiding Judge of many years in our District. A hallmark of my advocacy & career has been my boots-on-the-ground approach. Never one to shy away from directly engaging with the challenges at hand, I have consistently been in the trenches, working alongside community, state, national and global members, local businesses, and fellow advocates to enact meaningful change. My hands-on experience has not only deepened my understanding of the issues but also solidified my reputation as a leader who listens, understands, and acts. A Champion for Inclusivity and Progress In every role and initiative, I have placed a strong emphasis on inclusivity and progress for all, regardless of party affiliation, background, or belief. This commitment is rooted in the conviction that our district’s and indeed our nation’s strength lies in our diversity and our ability to come together to address common challenges.Addressing the Issues Head-On I'm passionate about addressing a wide range of issues that impact the residents of District 126 and beyond. Facing adversity and finding solutions head-on has always been my way, be it triumphing over cancer or choosing the unconventional path as a write-in candidate for our district. This bold move underscores my commitment to innovative, outside-the-box solutions, demonstrating the courageous and dedicated leadership I am eager to bring to represent your voices and interests.
  • In facing our district’s economic and social challenges, my campaign prioritizes revitalizing job markets, empowering small businesses through targeted training, and advocating for accessible healthcare and affordable housing. Drawing from personal experiences, including overcoming cancer, I am deeply committed to enacting policies that ensure prosperity and well-being for all residents. I propose collaborative development processes that engage our community, ensuring growth benefits everyone without imposing undue burdens. My focus is on responsive, innovative leadership that champions the community’s needs, striving for a future where every individual in our district has the opportunity to thrive.
  • Championing women's and reproductive rights is crucial in our district, where the issue is often silent yet loud. Our community, rich in diverse experiences from infertility treatments to the complexities of pregnancies resulting from assault, underscores the need for compassionate healthcare and robust support systems. Criminalizing reproductive decisions contradicts our values. Instead, we must cultivate a supportive environment that offers comprehensive resources, including counseling, access to contraceptive information, adoption info, etc. This commitment extends to fostering open conversations about sexual health, enhancing education, and ensuring women have the necessary choices and information for their well-being.
  • Issues are like a fire. In order to stop fueling the fire, people jointly decide to unite and have a process to putting the flames out. Our district faces a multitude of challenges, from environmental concerns and immigration to worker rights, education, housing, healthcare, and veterans’ issues. Each person is touched by these issues differently, yet a common thread binds us: the potential for unity and strength when we come together to seek solutions. The diversity of our concerns doesn’t have to be a source of division; instead, it can be our greatest strength if we choose to meet in the middle, embracing dialogue and cooperation. As a leader, my most pressing goal is to foster a sense of community and collective action to solve issues.
I am profoundly committed to ensuring that every individual’s constitutional rights are upheld and protected, especially in the face of challenges that threaten these fundamental freedoms. The core areas of my policy focus reflect this commitment: Criminal Justice System Reform, Education Equity. Gun sense. Reproductive & LGBTQ rights. Affordable Housing & Employment Opportunities.Healthcare Access: I champion efforts to eliminate voter suppression. Immigration Reform. I support policies aimed at environmental sustainability and justice. In areas where policy change has been slow or obstructed, I have taken it upon myself to stand in the gap for my community, working tirelessly to bring about the change we need.
Given my emphasis on the transformative power of collective action and unity within communities to address common challenges, I highly recommend “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community” by Robert D. Putnam as an insightful resource to understand part of my political philosophy. This seminal work explores the decline of social capital in the United States over the latter half of the 20th century, highlighting how this loss of community engagement and interpersonal connections has led to greater societal fragmentation and individual isolation. Putnam meticulously documents the shift away from participatory democracy and community involvement, pointing out the adverse effects on public health, education, safety, and democracy itself. “Bowling Alone” is not just a diagnosis of social fragmentation but also offers a hopeful perspective on how revitalizing community bonds and civic engagement can lead to positive societal change. Putnam argues for the importance of building social networks, fostering trust among community members, and encouraging participation in civic and communal activities as key strategies for reclaiming and strengthening communal power. He supports his arguments with extensive research, including surveys, interviews, and historical data, making a compelling case for the critical role of social capital in achieving collective well-being and addressing societal issues. This book resonates deeply with my political philosophy that emphasizes the importance of unity and collaborative efforts in overcoming obstacles and creating sustainable solutions. “Bowling Alone” provides both a theoretical framework and practical insights into how communities can come together to reclaim their power and effectively tackle issues that affect them all. It serves as a foundational text for understanding the dynamics of community engagement and the transformative potential of collective action.

Core responsibilities include creating, amending, and voting on state laws, reflecting the interests and needs of all the District's constituents. To actively participate in legislative sessions, committee meetings, and public hearings to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the bills and issues at hand. Engaging with constituents is paramount; seeking their input and feedback through town hall meetings, surveys, and direct communication to guide the Representative's legislative priorities and actions. Furthermore, being committed to securing state resources to benefit the district, including funding for public education, infrastructure projects, veterans care, immigration issues, healthcare services, etc. Collaborating with fellow lawmakers, regardless of party affiliation, to craft and support legislation that promotes the welfare and prosperity of all Texans is a fundamental aspect of the role. Advocating for policies that enhance economic growth, protect the environment, and ensure justice and equality for every Texan is at the heart of my duties as a representative.
The first historical event that seared itself into my memory was the space shuttle Columbia disaster. I was in school, gathered with my classmates around a television, watching with a mix of excitement and awe, when the unthinkable happened. The explosion that tore Columbia apart sent shockwaves through my young mind, leaving me devastated but also inexplicably drawn to the mysteries of the cosmos and science. This tragic event marked the beginning of my lifelong fascination with the universe’s wonders and the boundless possibilities of human innovation. My grandpa, recognizing the spark of curiosity the disaster had ignited within me, began taking me to Radio Shack almost weekly. There, amidst aisles filled with gadgets and gizmos, I found new scientific kits that fueled my imagination and ambition. Armed with a microscope and a telescope, I embarked on a journey of discovery that transcended the confines of my backyard, exploring microscopic worlds and gazing at the vastness of space. My grandfather, mama, aunts and other always encouraged, supported and invested in my scientific curiosities and were examples as well due to their career choices so realistically THEY were my main historical event that I remember and shaped all other events. Though my career path did not lead me directly into the fields of science, the environment, or medicine, my passion for these disciplines remains undiminished and at a later age became passions and among my missions. They are a constant source of inspiration, guiding my interests and hobbies, and reminding me of the resilience of human curiosity and our unending quest for knowledge.
Hmmm I first worked for ME thanks to my loved ones! My entrepreneurial journey began at the tender age of 9, rooted in the fertile grounds of my grandparents’ pecan trees in Central Texas. With my grandfather being one of the region’s most reputable ministers, his wide circle of friends became my inaugural clientele for what would burgeon into a thriving pecan business. This venture was not just a business; it was a comprehensive education in entrepreneurship, enriched by the generous contributions of tools, recipes, and marketing strategies from those around me. As the business grew, so did my ambitions, eventually leading to an expansion of my customer base to include the local feed store. This early foray into entrepreneurship laid the foundation for my future successes in various ventures. Alongside the practical business skills I acquired, I was also mentored in financial literacy, effective communication, and imbued with a sense of civic responsibility and the importance of volunteerism. These lessons have not only shaped my professional path but have also instilled in me a lifelong commitment to contributing positively to my community. To this day I am skilled teaching others to take their skills, talents, etc and create businesses and successful businesses at that.
Jerry because he is a good example of me! I am well versed in Art and War due to military however experience and life has taught me I NEVER have a need nor care to toss dirt or even focus on an opponent be it in international pageantry, international or federal business or any other arena. My ONLY competition and focus is ME and ensuring I serve well! Period!! Jerry was smart to never lose focus of his true goal! No fool by any means but blocked out noise and didn’t ever get distracted or have a need to throw Tom

Under the bus or ever mention him and that is how I’ve always played the game of life! Never had to compare! Never had to mention an opponent! Stayed focus on what I needed to do for greater good and that doesn’t change! The cartoon character that perfectly aligns with the description of someone who remains unfazed by opponents and stays steadfastly focused on their goals is Jerry from the classic animated series “Tom and Jerry.” Jerry is known for his unwavering determination and cleverness. Despite constant challenges and obstacles presented by Tom, he rarely gets sidetracked or loses focus on his objectives.

Jerry is a character who exemplifies resilience and resourcefulness. He often finds himself in tricky situations but always manages to navigate them with a clear mind and a focused approach. He doesn’t spend time worrying about Tom’s plans or actions; instead, he concentrates on his own strategies and goals, whether it’s finding food, protecting his friends, or simply outwitting Tom in their endless game of cat and mouse. Choosing Jerry as a fictional character to emulate speaks to a desire for maintaining focus, displaying ingenuity in the face of challenges, and achieving goals without getting distracted by external factors or opponents. Jerry’s ability to stay one step ahead, despite the odds, makes him an excellent symbol of determination and strategic thinking. I mean heck I am a write in candidate…confident and unbothered! Actions count!

As a cancer survivor, business owner, mentor, and relentless goal-seeker, I have faced challenges that have only fortified my resolve and sharpened my leadership skills. My battle with cancer was the toughest fight of my life, yet even amidst that struggle, I continued to build my business into a success. I didn’t just survive; I thrived, mentoring others and relentlessly pursuing my goals. This experience has ingrained in me a resilience and a capacity to lead, even during the most difficult times. During the pandemic, these qualities proved invaluable. I navigated those uncertain waters with the same tenacity and innovative thinking that saw me through my health challenges. I learned how to rethink, re-strategize, and remain focused on my objectives, always moving forward. My journey taught me the power of encouragement, particularly when facing adversity. I learned to build upon challenges, turning them into stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks. In office, I will bring this same indomitable spirit. I understand that the path to change is often met with resistance. But just as I was relentless in my personal and professional life, I will be relentless in my political endeavors. The bills I propose and the causes I advocate for will face hurdles, but my resilience will carry me through. I am committed to using my experiences to influence positive changes, advocating for policies that reflect the strength, perseverance, and innovative thinking that have defined my life. This isn’t just my professional promise; it’s a personal commitment. A commitment to being a leader who not only faces challenges head-on but also inspires and empowers others to do the same. My journey has equipped me with a unique perspective and a set of skills that are invaluable in public service. In office, I will use these experiences to advocate effectively, legislate empathetically, and lead with the same unwavering determination that has been the hallmark of my life.
The ideal relationship between the governor and state legislators is one marked by collaboration, mutual respect, and open communication. This partnership should transcend party lines, focusing on the shared goal of serving the public interest and advancing the welfare of the state. A constructive and cooperative relationship enables the efficient passage of legislation that reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of the state’s constituents. It involves regular dialogue and negotiation, where both parties are willing to listen, compromise, and find common ground on key issues. The governor, as the state’s executive, should actively engage with legislators, providing leadership and vision while respecting the legislative process and the prerogatives of the legislative branch. Conversely, state legislators should work closely with the governor, offering insights, feedback, and support to ensure that policies and laws are well-crafted, effective, and implementable. This ideal relationship also includes a robust system of checks and balances, where both the governor and the legislature hold each other accountable, ensuring that the powers of each branch are exercised responsibly for the benefit of all citizens. In essence, the optimal relationship is a partnership that fosters transparency, accountability, and a shared commitment to good governance and the betterment of the state.
While experience in government or politics can be advantageous, it is not an essential prerequisite for effective leadership in state legislatures. The political arena is replete with examples of individuals who entered office with minimal to no prior experience in politics or government yet emerged as impactful and renowned leaders. Figures such as Abraham Lincoln, who had only a few years of formal education and limited political experience before becoming one of the most revered Presidents in American history, and business magnate Arnold Schwarzenegger, who transitioned from acting to become the Governor of California, exemplify this. These leaders demonstrate that qualities such as vision, integrity, the ability to listen and adapt, and a strong commitment to public service can outweigh the lack of traditional political credentials. In today’s rapidly evolving world, the ability to adapt, continually learn, and pursue professional development is crucial for any leadership position. Political landscapes, societal needs, and technology are ever-changing, requiring leaders to be flexible, innovative, and willing to adopt new approaches. This underscores the idea that while experience is valuable, the capacity for adaptation, learning, and growth is equally, if not more, important in governance and leadership. An inspiring example of a Democratic leader who transitioned from a career in the arts to politics is Lin-Manuel Miranda, although not a politician, his influence on politics and social issues exemplifies the impact that artists can have on the political sphere. While Miranda is primarily known as the creator of the groundbreaking musical “Hamilton,” his work extends beyond the theater. He has used his platform to advocate for various social and political causes, notably the support for Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
Building relationships with fellow legislators is immensely beneficial, as it fosters a collaborative environment essential for effective governance. Such relationships facilitate the exchange of ideas, promote mutual understanding, and enable bipartisan cooperation, crucial in navigating the complexities of legislative processes. By cultivating strong ties with colleagues, legislators can more effectively negotiate, find common ground on divisive issues, and craft comprehensive policies that reflect diverse viewpoints and meet the needs of a broader constituency. Moreover, these relationships can lead to alliances that transcend party lines, enhancing the potential for legislative success and reducing polarization. In addition, networking with other legislators allows for the sharing of best practices, insights, and experiences, which can enrich one’s approach to problem-solving and policy-making. Ultimately, building relationships with other legislators is not just about personal or political gain; it is about enhancing the capacity to serve the public more effectively, demonstrating leadership that prioritizes the common good over individual or partisan interests.
In the future, I am keenly interested in pursuing a role in the Senate, following a period of dedicated professional and self-development aimed at aligning myself more closely with the leadership qualities and responsibilities inherent to a senatorial position. Recognizing the significant impact and broad scope of influence that a senator holds, I am committed to deepening my understanding of national issues, legislative processes, and the nuanced dynamics of governance at a higher level. This will involve engaging in targeted learning opportunities, cultivating a more expansive network of mentors and advisors within the political sphere, and gaining practical experience in areas critical to effective Senate leadership, such as policy analysis, negotiation, and bipartisan collaboration. My objective is to not only broaden my expertise and refine my leadership skills but also to ensure that my values and vision are in harmony with the needs and aspirations of my constituents. This deliberate approach to personal and professional growth will prepare me to serve with distinction in the Senate, where I aspire to contribute to meaningful legislative achievements and advocate for policies that promote the welfare and prosperity of our nation.
Bill Title: The Compassionate Alert System Act (CASA)

Section 2: Criteria for Activation

• A. The alert can be activated for individuals under the age of 65 with a documented mental, emotional, or neurological condition, reported missing under circumstances that pose a credible risk of harm to themselves or others.
• B. A request for activation must come from a legal guardian or caregiver, with verification from law enforcement to ensure the legitimacy of the alert.

Section 4: Public Engagement and Education
State Affairs, Environmental Regulation. Defense and Veterans Affairs. Homeland Security and Public Safety,Health Care Reform Select Committee, International Relations & Economic Development Committee, Business and Industry. My diverse professional background fuels my interest in serving on key Texas House committees including Business and Industry, Environmental Regulation, Defense and Veteran Affairs, State Affairs, Homeland Security and Public Safety, Healthcare Reform, International Relations, and Economic Development. My involvement in the business sector has given me firsthand experience in driving economic growth and supporting Texas businesses, emphasizing the importance of a pro-growth regulatory environment that also safeguards workers' rights. This is complemented by my commitment to environmental stewardship, gained from sustainable development projects, advocating for a balance between economic development and environmental preservation. My personal ties to the military community deepen my dedication to veteran affairs, while my legal and advocacy work has prepared me to tackle state affairs with an eye for justice and equality. Experiences in community safety, healthcare advocacy, and international trade have respectively sharpened my focus on public safety, healthcare reform, and fostering global economic partnerships. Collectively, these experiences equip me to contribute valuable insights and effective solutions across these committees, addressing Texas's most pressing challenges with a holistic approach that benefits all Texans.
I firmly believe in the fundamental principles of financial transparency, government accountability, and the critical role of a representative’s accountability to their district on significant matters such as tax increases, affordable housing development, and other community-impacting initiatives. Representatives should act as stewards of the public trust, ensuring that decisions, especially those affecting the district’s fiscal health and livability, are made with full transparency and in consultation with the constituents they serve. I advocate for an open government where financial records and decisions are accessible and understandable to all, ensuring taxpayers know how their money is spent. I support implementing robust oversight mechanisms to oversee government transactions and operations, guaranteeing efficiency and the effective use of public funds. This commitment extends to combating corruption and promoting ethical conduct within all government operations. Beyond financial transparency, I stress the importance of representatives being directly accountable to their communities, particularly when it comes to decisions that can profoundly affect residents’ lives, such as tax increases and new developments. To this end, I propose that town halls and community meetings be held before any significant actions are taken or development projects are approved. These meetings should precede any discussions with developers or other parties looking to make changes within the district. This proactive approach ensures that the community is fully informed, allowing residents to present their questions, issues, and concerns directly to those in power. It empowers the community, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in the decision-making process, thus fostering a partnership between the government, developers, and the community at large. My vision is for a responsive, accountable government that prioritizes the needs and well-being of its constituents, ensuring
