|- Given that the state Comptroller General & Treasurer's offices have lost $5 Billion through accounting errors and missing bank accounts - I believe that the state legislature needs to begin to be a bit more transparent and hawkish on their oversight of these offices. With my 20+ years of experience in public accounting, I know and understand accounting systems and want to make sure that the state is doing everything it can to check and verify the reports coming out of the state's accounting functions.
- Healthy populations contribute to the state's wellbeing. The state should be doing more to ensure that constituents have access to good local healthcare. I want to make sure that we are expanding services in South Carolina so that in the event of a medical emergency, those in rural populations do not need to drive +30 minutes to seek care OR wait 30 minutes for help to get to them. I also believe that the disadvantaged & vulnerable populations of our state should have access to healthcare. I want to expand Medicaid for the disabled and children that are living below the poverty line.
- As a women I believe that it is important that we have equal representation in government. The LACK of women legislators in South Carolina is appalling. The experiences of women are SO different than men and those experiences provide us with a different perspective on life; informing our decisions under a different light. In order to have well rounded legislation we really MUST have a diverse and multi perspective representation in order to meet the best compromises that work well for ALL citizens of our state.

|- I understand business & finance. I am interested in new technology and the importance of safeguarding assets. I want to make sure that the treasurer's office is led by someone who understands the dynamics of analytical planning so that South Carolina is ready for the future.
- It is unethical for any state official to use state program dollars to further their political agenda. I will be introducing legislation that inhibits politicians from using advertising dollars for state programs to broadcast their name or face.
- As an Alliance Party candidate I am term limited by my party to 3 terms in office. We need a world with citizen leaders, not a political class.

|- All levels of government should have term limits. I plan to introduce legislation that would implement term limits across the state of South Carolina.
- Voters should choose their politicians; politicians should not choose their voters. I plan to introduce legislation that would end partisan gerrymandering in the state of South Carolina.
- From energy consumption to home building, state wide internet access to a modernized legislature, South Carolina needs to analyze the data, think harder, and plan smarter for our future.
• Pass a Constitutional Amendment to allow citizens to vote for fair maps

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Place investment earnings back into the general fund as required by law.[5][6] |
” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
“ | Campaign finance reform, governmental transparency and accountability.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[6]
|
” |

“ | My grandparents each gave me a good example to follow. #1 Tell the truth #2 Own your flaws #3 Accept people the way they are #4 A little hard work goes a long way.[6] | ” |
“ | Nope. I encourage those who would like to learn more about my political philosophy to send me an email with questions.[6] | ” |

“ | The core responsibilities for someone elected to this office are: #1 Provide an environment in which the professionals that work within the treasurers office can perform their jobs with dignity #2 Insure that the investments and contracts that are controlled by the treasurer's office are in the best interest of the taxpayers #3 Follow the law.[6] | ” |
“ | If I am elected as SC Treasurer, I would like to leave a legacy of restoring trust and professionalism to the office of the Treasurer.[6] | ” |
“ | I remember when the Berlin Wall came down. I was eight.[6] | ” |
“ | My neighbor growing up ran a small monogramming shop out of her basement. I would help her set the frames before sewing and trim the stiches after the machine finished. I helped as I was needed for about 5 years.[6] | ” |
“ | A financial background with a clear understanding of accounting systems and budgeting.[6] | ” |
