I'm a woman of a mixed ethnic background, raised by a single mother. Her and I lived in poverty throughout my childhood, as she became disabled when I was a child. This experience helps me to see what communities need and to have a selfless outlook. My work history is quite diverse, with management in retail, food service, and hospitality. I currently work in healthcare as an in-home caregiver. I was my mother's caregiver the last few years of her life, this gave me experience to choose a new path for my work-life. I left retail due to not having a good relationship with my employer and fellow management. I now love my job, and have decided, that were I to win, I want to work the weekends with my patients. The issues I stand for are important to myself or people I care about.
  • I work with the community I represent. I want to be known as one of the people, not out of touch.
  • I am running to give the people of my district a choice. The incumbent has had 16 years in this office.
  • I am out in the public and spend time among the people of my district and communities. I'm not hiding from those who I want their support and want to support them in carrying their voices to Topeka.
Keeping women's bodily autonomy, fighting the Anti-DEI law that was signed and went into effect in 2024, Medicaid expansion, and legalization of cannabis.
I look up to my mom, she was one of the strongest women I'll ever know.
Honesty, listening to the people you represent, voting for policies for the betterment of your community, and not taking bribes from corporations or rich entities to vote certain ways.
Honesty, I'm of the people, for the people, and want the people to keep their free will over their bodies.
To help the people represented through voting and writing new policies and laws for their betterment. To respect their needs and not letting outside corporations control the policies and votes.
I want to show other women and little girls that they can be leaders in government, if they wish to.
Oklahoma City Bombing. My mom had an appointment at the building at 9am, but had cancelled it the day before and we were going to visit family in Kansas. Her and I were in Blackwell, OK when we seen the bombing on the news. It was a scary thing. I was 7 years old when that occurred.
Unofficially, I was my parents' doughnut helper, until both parents sold their shares when I was a child. Officially, I was a student cafeteria worker in 2002.
I relate to many Disney characters. I would probably want to be Tiana from Princess and the Frog. She is a hardworking woman who worked multiple jobs to make her dreams come true.
My last name and my autoimmune disorders.
The governor is the highest office held in each state. I wish we did not have 'presidents' of the state senates.
Overcoming the misinformation that has been spread during this presidential election.
We all have to start somewhere. My opponent did not have any political or government experience before becoming a State Rep 18 years ago. I was told that State Rep and State Senate are similar in positions.
Many women in the last 20 years have given me the confidence to even envision myself in a political office.
I ran for Andover city council in 2019, Butler County Commissioner of District 5 in 2022. If I lost this election, I might try for county commissioner again in 2026.
Many cancer patients who go to Kansas City, MO for treatments and are prescribed medical cannabis, but can't use or fill their orders because Kansas has not passed the legalization to use it.
