A proud mother of three adult children who has called District 15 home for 13 years, Saundra brings both professional expertise and personal investment to her campaign. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Colorado State University and master's degrees in Health Care Administration and Gerontology from the University of Southern California.

Professionally, Saundra served as the director of a secure memory care community, where she developed a deep understanding of how to balance budgetary constraints with the critical needs of vulnerable populations. This experience taught her the importance of fiscal responsibility while never losing sight of the human impact of policy decisions.

She currently serves as an appointee to the Virginia Public Guardian and Conservator Advisory Board, which advises the Commissioner of the Department for the Aging and assists in the coordination and management of local and regional programs appointed to act as public guardians and conservators.
I'm passionate about public policies that directly impact Virginians' daily lives, especially families, children, and those who serve our communities.

Better Schools: I believe in transparency, accountability, and high standards in education. Our students should be prepared not just to graduate but to succeed in life, and parents should have a real voice in the classroom.

Safer Neighborhoods: That means supporting law enforcement, cracking down on crime, and ensuring our communities are safe, well-lit, and protected.

Lower Taxes: I’m committed to easing the burden on working families—starting with eliminating Virginia’s unfair car tax.
I worked in a grocery store bakery my senior year of high school.
We need leaders who believe in freedom, opportunity, and limited government, not one-size-fits-all mandates and massive spending that leads to higher taxes and fewer choices for everyday Virginians.
Yes, I believe it’s absolutely beneficial to build relationships with other legislators. Good relationships lead to better communication, collaboration, and the ability to find common ground even when we don’t always agree. Strong working relationships help move good policy forward, cut through gridlock, and ensure that the voices of the people we represent are heard.
I would introduce a bill requiring local education agencies to provide intermittent independent audits on spending before transferring state funds.

I am a mother of 3 children. We are a military family who decided to stay in the Fairfax County area after retirement so our children could partake in the educational opportunities and excellence this area afforded. I did not realize, at the time, that what was a foregone conclusion would become something I would have to end up fighting for. I am a product of a military family. I grew up here, there, and everywhere. Frequent moves meant that I had to work hard to keep up. I ended up at Colorado State University for my undergraduate degree in Psychology and at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles for my postgraduate years. I have a master’s degree in Health Care Administration and a master’s degree in Gerontology. I have many volunteer experiences under my belt but my last formal employment was as the director of a secure memory care unit in a nursing home. I intended to return to this field after I raised my children, but life is funny like that. Instead, I am called to protect another vulnerable population, the children of FCPS.
  • Trust that I am the person to disrupt the group-think that infects the current school board. There are no guard rails on how far they will progress away from a focus on academics
  • Transparency is a key component of the process of fixing FCPS. As a school board member, I will commit to giving you the information you need to parent with access to a reliable, world-class education with minimal 3rd party influence.
  • Together we can return to high-quality academics and equal opportunity for all students.
I want to investigate and help mediate the factors prompting the exodus of teachers and students from FCPS.I am interested in solutions to address learning loss and the mental fallout caused by extensive school closures.I will point out and help rectify when FCPS is failing to walk the walk when it comes to students with disabilities.I would be excited to increase the number of schools in the county that participate in the Purple Star program for military-connected students.I will lead a return to focus on academic rigor over politics. I view the learning loss, declining standardized test scores, and modified grading as not only damaging to FCPS’s reputation but also a roadblock to college admissions, vocational success, a deterrent to people choosing to stay or move to the area, and a danger to our national security.
