Save America is a leadership PAC created by President Donald Trump (R) on November 9, 2020, following the 2020 presidential election.[1] Trump's campaign communications director, Tim Murtaugh, said, "The president always planned to do this, win or lose. So he can support candidates and issues he cares about, such as combating voter fraud."[2]
According to the Federal Election Commission, "A leadership PAC is a political committee that is directly or indirectly established, financed, maintained or controlled by a candidate or an individual holding a federal office. The committee is not an authorized committee of the candidate or office holder, and is not affiliated with an authorized committee of a candidate or office holder. Members of Congress and other political leaders often establish these nonconnected committees to support candidates for federal and nonfederal offices."[3]
Background
Federal Election Commission records show Bradley T. Crate listed as the Save America's treasurer. Crate filed the Statement of Organization with the FEC on November 9, 2020.[4] The Wall Street Journal reported that "The PAC allows Mr. Trump to continue to raise money from his campaign's extensive list of supporters. The PAC could accept donations of up to $5,000 per year, a markedly lower cap than what the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee have been able to accept."[5]
Leadership
Crate was listed as treasurer and custodian of records in a January 2025 Statement of Organization filed with the FEC.[6]
