Sayd Hussain is a 22-Year-Old Environmental Activist and Environmental Engineering Major. Sayd was born in Georgetown, Guyana, a small but proud nation in South America. Because of British colonialism, many of his ancestors were taken from India and enslaved to work on sugar plantations in the New World. Sayd was still very young when his mom and dad immigrated to the United States, where we became citizens. Sayd's ancestors suffered under Sugar Indentured Servanthood, which is why he has taken a stand against Big-Sugar, Sugar Lobby, and any Industries that pollute our environment. As a Florida State House of Representative, Sayd will be focused, determined, committed, and adaptable. Many people wanting to run for office might say these things, but Sayd already exercises these in his day to day, because he already learned to be passionate about serving the underserved. Sayd believes that the highest calling of humanity is helping those who cannot help themselves, and the best way for him to do that is by becoming a Florida State House Representative.
Environmentalism, Senior Citizens, HOA/Condo Association Transparency, and Supporting our Jewish Community are areas of public policy I'm personally passionate about.
My first job was with The Fresh Market at the age of 17 and I had it for 7 months.
No, previous experience in government or politics is accepting the status quo. I believe it is beneficial for state legislators to be activist, not politicians. A activist will advocate for the issues in the legislator and on the streets, fighting for the environment or senior citizens like me.
Restoring the Everglades is the state's greatest challenge over the next decade because of decades of damage and destruction done to the Everglades by the Sugarcane Lobby and other pollutant industries.
