California: On June 30, Governor Schwarzenegger announced 17 judicial appointments, to various courts. Eleven judges are to serve on the Los Angeles Superior Court:
- Michael J. Convey, a Superior Court Commissioner,
- Christine C. Ewell, Assistant U.S. Attorney,
- Dianna J. Gould-Saltman, Los Angeles Attorney,
- Brian M. Hoffstadt, Los Angeles Attorney,
- Marc R. Marmaro, Los Angeles Attorney,
- Chestopher L. Taylor, Los Angeles Attorney,
- James E. Horan, Alternate Public Defender for Los Angeles County,
- Upinder S. Kalra, Alternate Public Defender for Los Angeles County,
- Yvette Verastegui, Alternate Public Defender for Los Angeles County,
- Timothy R. Saito, Deputy City Attorney for Los Angeles, and
- Carlos E. Vazquez, Deputy District Attorney, Los Angeles County.[1]
- Jennifer R.S. Detjen, appointed to the California Fifth District Court of Appeal[2]
- Andrew S. Blum, appointed to the Lake County Superior Court[3]
- Mark V. Bacciarini, appointed to the Merced County Superior Court[4]
- Theodore Howard, appointed to the Orange County Superior Court[5]
- Margo Lewis, appointed to the San Diego County Superior Court[6]
