Schwarzenegger appoints four to Superior Courts
December 3, 2010
California: Yesterday Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the appointment of four judges to the California Superior Courts.
- Rosemary T. McGuire was appointed to the Fresno County Superior Court;
- Diane B. Altamirano was appointed to the Imperial County Superior Court;
- Dale J. Blea was appointed to the Madera County Superior Court; and
- B. Scott Thomsen was appointed to the Nevada County Superior Court.[1]
McGuire and Altamirano were appointed to newly created seats that were created by the conversion of a court commissioner position. Blea succeeds Jennifer R.S. Detjen on the Nevada County Court, while Thomsen replaces C. Anders Holmer.[2][3]
All four judges must run for election to the court in the next general election. If they win, they will serve six-year terms.[4]
