Campaign themes

2014

Bartle's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

Securing the Border

  • Excerpt: "We cannot let the federal government’s failure to do its job stand in the way of us protecting our state and its citizens. Our safety, our health, our economy and our reputation all suffer when we don’t enforce the rule of law. We must secure the border and enact legislation that discourages illegals from coming to Arizona and the United States, not encourages."

Creating Jobs

  • Excerpt: "One of the most important things we can do is to eliminate wasteful spending and unnecessary regulations. This is critical to creating an environment of success that will bring jobs to our area. We must do all we can to lower unemployment by encouraging growth from existing businesses and attracting new companies to our area."

Improving Education

  • Excerpt: "Research has shown that the more education a person receives, the less likely they are to commit crime, use drugs and engage in abusive and harmful behavior. Education is essential to building strong individuals, families and communities. It is critical for everyone in our area that we provide students of all ages with the best education possible."

Supporting Veterans

  • Excerpt: "Our veterans are the reason we enjoy the freedoms we do in this great country. We cannot take for granted our Constitutional rights or the people who have fought for them. I will fight to ensure veterans are provided the respect and resources they deserve."

Opposing Obamacare

  • Excerpt: "We are currently in the middle of a healthcare crisis. It has far-reaching effects on every aspect of our economy and every resident in our district. Obamacare is not the answer and will only make the problem worse. As your representative in the State Legislature, I will work hard to find sensible, cost-effective solutions that will provide vital services to people of all ages at a reasonable price."
