Scott Beason to run for US House against Bachus
January 15, 2012
HOMEWOOD, Alabama: Current Alabama State Senator Scott Beason (R) announced he will run for U.S. House this fall, challenging current incumbent Spencer Bachus (R) in the Republican primary.[1]
Two Democratic candidates have also announced that they will be seeking election in the 6th District, which leans heavily Republican. They are Penny Hudgins Bailey, a retired Air Force Colonel, and William G. Barnes, a former federal government employee.[1]
Beason's concern over issues, mainly spending, influenced his choice to run. He said "Washington is out of control." "The sad part is that many Republicans are just as responsible for the problems as the Democrats. It is time for change in Washington."[1]
