I moved to Grand Junction in 1984 for a sales position in the middle of a giant recession. Like others, I dug in and put down roots here and built a nice small business that did well.

I'm a lifelong small business entrepreneur, but I've also been on the frontlines of these issues as a citizen advocate for decades, working with our local nonprofits to tackle healthcare issues, build coalitions for a better vision for our economy, take care of our vulnerable youth and seniors, and win investment in the kinds of public services and amenities that enrich our lives and opportunity here. .

I'm running to continue that service of building community trust and bringing people together as your State Representative in District 55.
  • I have been a local advocate for bringing down the cost of healthcare here for 10 years, the fight continues.
  • Our economy has transitioned out of fossil fuels and must now broaden to create business opportunities and better paying jobs.
  • Our public school system is running on fumes and can not meet the needs of our workforce of the future. We must increase funding to staff up .

Better Jobs

Level the playing field for small business
Easier startup for small business

Local organizers who have worked on social and economic issues here for years against great odds.

Muhammad Ali was a great leader for his standing up to the war and racism. Same with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
The founding ecologists/environmentalists, Aldo Leopold, Rachel Carson, Gaylord Nelson, for their leadership.
Steven Jobs, Elon Musk, Bill Gates

My grandmothers who were both rural public school teachers.
Empathy, big picture vision, a recognition of the past in planning for the future. I am not afraid to stand up against big odds for those in need.
I'm ambitious and an eternal optimist. I am honest, hard working and care about those less fortunate. I am anxious to take a higher leadership position and will work to dialogue with everyone I represent.
To provide a strong government to:

Provide equal educational opportunities for everyone
Provide affordable and equal access to healthcare
To care for our elderly when needed
Good roads and infrastructure
A good place to do business with a strong workforce and fair taxes
To spurn new innovations through our colleges, universities and tech schools
To manage a jail system that rehabilitates
To manage a judicial system that is fair and efficient

To help work on the homeless problem
John F. Kennedy's assassination. I was 6 but remember watching the stories on TV and listening to the adults talking about it...it was of great concern and distress in my family.
Ha, lawn care - forever! My buddy and I started a house painting company when we were 15 - we ran ads in the local paper and our parents took turns dropping us off at jobs until we could drive. We did it for 2 years..I later painted for companies as well.
The Godfater, what a story. I grew up in Wisconsin with a lot of mob stories close to home.
The senate is more even for party seats so they have to work together more. I look forward to the unaffiliated becoming more active in races and winning seats.
It seems to hurt as they come in very partisan. Those of us from the private sector and grass roots organizing are much more open.
The economy is in tough shape but the state budget is worse. Public and secondary education are in shambles financially. Colorado is a target state for startups but we will loose that position soon if we don't deal with Tabor and Gallagher.
Very much, I know several of them already. I think it's important to know the lobbyists as well.
Colorado has a good plan in place.

Agriculture, Natural Resources, & Energy
Health & Human Services
Business, Labor, & Technology

Education
I worked years ago with a dreamer in Delta who was so smart, yet was being held back by then laws making it financially and legally difficult for here to go to college. I thought to myself, why can't we see what we are doing to our country by not working with our future leaders.
