Hi, I'm Scott Bell. My wife of 30 years and I raised our two children in West Jordan over the past 26 years. Before coming to Utah, I worked as a mining engineer across the country and around the world. I know, understand and appreciate diverse communities and cultures! From 2001 to 2011, I owned a small local automobile repair franchise. That experience taught me how truly difficult it is for small businesses and ordinary wage earners to get by.

I co-founded the Utah Civic Action Network - UCAN! - in 2017, and as a UCANner personally gathered over 10,000 signatures for Medical Cannabis, Medicaid Expansion, Better Boundaries and Count My Vote.

In 2018 I ran to represent HD47 West Jordan/South Jordan/Midvale, getting 47% of the vote as a first-time, no-name candidate. Politically I'm a Democrat, progressive on issues like women's rights, medical cannabis, and green energy, more moderate on issues like fiscal policy.

I believe in the aspirational ideas of Freedom, Family, Opportunity, Balance and Change. My ideas, passion, knowledge and life experiences will serve HD47 well in the Utah legislature.

  • I'm running again this year as the same moderate I've always been. I don't like political extremism either on the left or the right. It is hateful and divisive, and it doesn't do you, your family or our country any good. You elect me to work for you and get things done that will improve you lives.
  • Constituents of Utah House District 47 deserve a representative who actually listens, some one who will take you seriously and not mess with the choices we make as a majority in our district.
  • What's important to your family is important to my family. I will work with any idea from any source if it helps families like yours and mine. I promise to test every vote in the Utah legislature by how it will affect our families.
1. Helping Utah families: Jobs, education, healthcare, secure and dignfied retirement.

2. Clean air and clean energy.

3. Mental health issues.

4. Protecting funding for Utah education.

5. Free and fair elections.
