I am a lifelong resident of Arapahoe County. I continue to live in the county with my wife. Both our sons, daughters- in-law and four wonderful grandchildren also live here.
After 44 years in aviation, I am pursuing a new future as your Arapahoe County Commissioner District 3. I have served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of House district 36 serving the Arapahoe County Democrats.
Arapahoe County is at a critical point in time, we have had stagnate income for the past 20 years with increasing budgetary requirements. I am the new leader who will put the most demanding needs of our citizens first! Now and into the future!
  • We need to continue to support our public safety programs.
  • we need to protect our air and water
  • we need to increase our open space for future generations.
The board of county commissioners is responsible for collecting and distributing those tax dollars to various entities across the county. They also control the overall budget for all elected offices and their respective departments. They also control the budgets for all non elected departments in the county.
My Father and both my grandfathers, all where hard working and honest.
Being approachable and not being afraid of telling people the trust about the situation.
To ensure that the county stays within it's budget to ensure we continue to provide the best services to our citizens.
That I served the citizens and employee's of Arapahoe county first
I worked with my Dad as a finish carpenter. I worked over the summers when school was out and on weekends during the school year.
Team of Rivals, by Doris Kearns Goodwin. President Lincoln always found a way to work together with members of his cabinet in the effort to save the union.
The theme song to movie The Good Bad and ugly, great song to whistle to.
Trying to reinforce the belief that being a union member is more that filling a grievance.
The county commissioners in addition to their budget controls have the ability to enact local ordinances, control environmental restrictions on oil fracking.
No. I believe we need someone who is in touch with the voters. We need someone who can relate to the average citizen and remembers what is like to go to work every day and what that means.
I represent over 500 members of my local union as their union steward and work as an on-site safety advocate. I deal with both work related and personal issues on a daily basis. I believe that we need someone who knows how to listen and help resolve issues.
The ability to provide assistance to help lift our citizens up when they need it with the services available from the county.
My Grandfather told a joke about a farmer how was selling a horse that would do any thing you told it to, the horse would dance. jump fences. lay down and sit on command. The farmer found a buyer who bought the house and took it home to show his wife, when he asked the horse to do a trick the horse didn't move, in anger the farmer called and said he wanted his money back because the horse failed to preform any of the tricks seen earlier. The selling farmer told him to hold on he would be right over. When he arrived the other farmer was still very upset, so the selling farmer looked around and found a piece of wood and walked over to the horse and gently tapped it on the horses head, he then asked the farmer who bought the horse to ask him to do something and sure enough the horse did it. In amazement the farmer asked what the difference was? the reply was, you need to get his attention first. I think there is a lesson in there somewhere

The public is entrusting elected officials with their tax dollars, we must demonstrate to them that we are doing the right things with that money. If the elected can't, then public must insist on a change in direction either in a public setting or at the ballot box.
