A Scott County Use Tax question was defeated on the April 2, 2013 election ballot in Scott County, which is in Missouri.
This use tax amounts to a sales tax on large out of state purchases. It is primarily directed to out of state automobile purchases and is intended to bring in much needed revenue to the county and even the playing field between local vendors and out of state competitors.[1]
