Four seats were up for election on April 7, 2015. A primary election for the at-large Position 7 seat was held March 3, 2015.

Position 1 incumbent LeEtta Felter defeated challenger Jim Poe in her re-election bid, while Position 2 incumbent Richard Schier retained his seat without facing opposition. Shannon Wickliffe won the Position 4 seat as she was the only candidate to file for the open seat.[3]

Four candidates filed for the open at-large Position 7 seat: Joe Beveridge, Scott Enge, Robyn Essex, and Elizabeth Howerton.[3] Because more than three candidates filed for the position, a primary election was held. Essex and Beveridge advanced to the general election, where Beveridge won the seat.

Enge provided the following statement on his Facebook campaign page:

I have decided to run for Olathe School Board this spring. It has been a long term goal of mine to help improve the quality of education in my community, first as an educator and later as a board of education member. I know personally the impact of a quality education on students, families and our community. A quality education empowers the individual towards independence and financial security. It not only effects the individual but also improves our community. My three goals as a prospective board member are:

-To be a consistent listener to the the parents and constituents of the Olathe school district and support their wishes for the best education for our community.
-To give teachers the best resources possible to create the best learning environment for their students.
-To be an innovator for school funding alternatives so our school district is fully funded to the benefit of its students.[5]
