Scott J. Silverman was a judge of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court, Family Division, in Florida. He joined the court in 1997. He ran unopposed and was retained in the August 24, 2010.[1][2][3][4] Silverman retired from the court in 2012.[5]

Education

Silverman received his B.B.A. degree from the University of Miami in 1978 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1981.[2]

Career

Silverman began his career in 1981 as an assistant attorney general in Oklahoma. In 1983, he worked briefly for the law firm of Stephans, Lynn, Chernay, Klein & Zuckerman. He then became a law clerk for Judge Fredricka Smith of Florida's 11th Judicial Circuit. Later that same year, he joined the law firm of Marlow, Shofi, Smith, Connell, DeMahy & Valerius. He then opened his own law practice in 1985. In 1991, he joined the Dade County Court and then, in 1997, he joined the circuit court.[2]

2010 election

Silverman ran unopposed and was automatically retained to a new term on the circuit court.[3][6]
