Scott Jackson (Connecticut)
Scott Jackson was the commissioner of labor in Connecticut from 2016 to 2018. Jackson was appointed to the position by Governor Dan Malloy (D) on January 25, 2016, for a term beginning February 3, 2016.[1][2] Jackson left the position in June 2018 to become commissioner of the state Department of Revenue Services.[3]
Jackson served as the mayor of Hamden, Connecticut, from 2009 until 2015.[2][4]
Biography
After graduating from Cornell, Jackson began working with United States Senator Joe Lieberman in 1993. He left Sen. Lieberman's office in 2000 to pursue an opportunity in the nonprofit sector. In 2003, he returned to Lieberman's office to work as the deputy state director for constituent service and began working on the town of Hamden's community development advisory commission. In 2009, Jackson was elected mayor of Hamden.[2][4]

Connecticut Commissioner of labor (2016-2018)
Gov. Dan Malloy appointed Jackson Connecticut commissioner of labor, effective February 3, 2016. Jackson was the permanent replacement for former commissioner Sharon Palmer, who retired at the end of 2015. Dennis Murphy served as the interim director from January 1, 2016 to February 3, 2016.[2][1] Jackson left the position in June 2018 to become commissioner of the state Department of Revenue Services.[3]
Upon his appointment, Jackson laid out his priorities as commissioner of labor:
