I am born and raised in Miami, FL. I studied Economics and Technology at Carnegie Mellon, which led to my first career as a technology and business consultant. Feeling the need for greater impact, I put myself through law school. I served as a prosecutor dealing with thousands of cases from DUI to first-degree murder. I then transitioned to civil defense. Eventually, I started a small law firm representing individuals and small businesses emphasizing criminal defense, evictions, debts, and insurance claims. During this time I became AV-Rated in both Criminal and Insurance Law. I have experience with firms of all types including government, solo-, small - , and medium - sized firms. After publicly going through the Judicial Nominating Commission a dozen times, I was appointed County Court Judge in April 2020.

After taking the bench, I went to the Board of County Commissioners to get funding to start an eviction resolution portal CourtHELP (Court Housing Eviction Landlord/tenant Portal). I took over the division with the highest caseload and managed to reduce the number of cases 35% even though the entire county civil went up 25% during the pandemic. In May 2021, I was humbled and honored to be selected an Administrative Judge of County Civil, helping to manage the other 21 county civil judges and assisting the Chief Judge in implementing her goals and policies.

Judge Janowitz is happily married for over 8 years, and has 3 beautiful children.
  • Providing efficient access and justice to everyone
  • Trying to be involved in the community - Schools, The Florida Bar, Voluntary Bar Associations, and community organizations. This also means trying to be a role model and mentor.
  • As an Associate Administrative Judge, trying to manage the other county civil judges, assisting the Chief Judge, and helping improve the processes and technology to bring efficient access and justice to everyone
As a County Court Judge, I care deeply about the topics that come before county civil including landlord / tenant law, evictions, consumer debt, property insurance, and personal injury protection benefits.
It one of several factors but is based on peers and judges raking the scholastic and ethical traits of an attorney.
