Kruger is a defense attorny and runs his own law practice, Scott Kruger Law. Kruger obtained a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. He went on to earn a juris doctor at Northern Kentucky University.[2]

Two of the five seats on the Hamilton City School District Board of Education were up for election on November 3, 2015. All members represent the district at-large.
Incumbent Scott Kruger and newcomer Thomas Alf ran unopposed and won the two seats that were up for election. Incumbent Larry Bowling did not run for re-election, and candidate Kerri Mills withdrew from the race before the filing deadline passed.[1][3][4]
