|My entrepreneurial spirit led me to start my own company, the Preston Property Group, which oversees a growing portfolio of properties. By building a small business from the ground up, I understand the importance of being financially responsible and the importance of innovation to succeed - topics missing in the discussions at our state capital these days.
My mom dedicated her career to teaching special education in District 87, which gave me the utmost respect for those working in education. My wife, Ali, and I will be welcoming our first child in August, which makes me even more driven to make our community, region and state a better place for all families and businesses to thrive, in the classroom and out, for this generation and the next.- For too long, Springfield's poor policy and partisan divide has let the families and businesses of Illinois down. Serving on council, I’ve seen first-hand how a functioning government can solve real problems for people, which sometimes includes the government getting out of the way. I bring combined experiences in business, local government, and community involvement to every discussion and vote.
- During my time serving as a Normal City Councilman, I have always put the people of my community first. I have voted against increasing taxes while encouraging economic development by bringing businesses into my hometown. I have shown a commitment to economic growth, keeping taxes low and promoting policies to ensure a high quality of life during my tenure on council.
- Growing up in Normal, IL, I understand the struggles that Central Illinoisans face. I’m best equipped to bring a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach to the problems facing Illinois families, workers, job creators and taxpayers.
Responsible Spending: Families have been forced to tighten their belts, and so should the government. I will only vote for responsible, balanced budgets in Springfield.
Safe Communities: Public policies should not hinder law enforcement, it should assist it. I support repealing Pritzker’s anti-police law, and I Back the Blue.
