April 13, 2023: Seventy percent (70%) of voters have a favorable opinion of Ronald Reagan. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that just 24% have an unfavorable opinion. This net +46 points is the highest for any of the seven most recent past presidents.

The survey also found that all seven - Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump - are viewed favorably by a majority of voters. Barack Obama has the second highest favorable rating at 63%, and Jimmy Carter has the second highest net favorable at +36 points.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on March 21-22, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
