April 16, 2021: Seven percent (7%) of U.S. adults surveyed by the Pew Research Center do not use the internet.[1]
Twenty years ago, nearly half of all Americans did not go online. By 2015, that number had fallen to 15%.[1]
The number who don’t go online today includes 25% of those over 65 and just 1% of those under 30.[1]
The Pew Research Center reports that 10% of those in rural areas never go online, along with 6% of suburban adults and 5% who live in urban areas.[1]
Among those who never attended college, 14% never go online. Among those with a college degree, just 2% never use the internet.[1]
