Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day for April 16, 2025

April 16, 2025: North Dakota is one of 16 states with term limits for state legislators. On November 3, 2026, North Dakota’s voters will vote on an amendment to their constitution to change the term limits for state legislators. The current amendment limits legislators to a max of eight years in their House of Representatives and another eight years in the Senate. The amendment that voters will be voting on would limit legislators to four complete four-year terms regardless of chamber. What this would essentially do is allow state senators to complete 16 years in the Senate, rather than having to split that time with eight years in the Senate and eight years in the House of Representatives.
